Volunteer Overseas

Volunteers Receive First Aid Training Abroad

First Aid course in Sri Lanka

The basic course takes 2 to 3 hours and includes; the initial response to a conscious and unconscious casualty, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), serious bleeding, choking in adults and children, heart attacks, burns, fractures, shock and poisoning.

This was the ideal opportunity to encourage volunteers to participate in an activity that would benefit them further and add to their experience. The feedback from the staff and volunteers was excellent, and whilst we hope they won't need to put their new skills to test, it is good to know that many of our volunteers are more prepared to deal with a problem if one arises.
