Public Health in Cambodia
High School Specials for 15-18 Year Olds
- Placement location: Phnom Penh
- Types of placements: Government Hospital and Health Centre
- Accommodation: Guest House/Hotel
- Age Requirements: 15-18 years old
This programme allows volunteers to experience and learn about healthcare in a developing country. Volunteers are based in Phnom Penh and will stay in either a guesthouse or hotel.
You will work alongside the Projects Abroad Coordinator, as well as a medical intern and visit a public hospital in Phnom Penh, a health centre in the community and have the chance to learn about traditional Khmer medicine.
As a volunteer on the Public Health High School Special in Cambodia, you will also be able to get involved with outreach activities and help provide public health education in schools and the local community.
No trip to Cambodia is complete without visiting the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat, so the weekend trip will allow you time to visit several of the main temple sites.
Every year, thousands of High School Special volunteers actively make a difference around the world. During their time abroad, they contribute towards achieving long-term goals and make a long-lasting positive impact on the communities where they work. If you want to know more about their achievements, read our 2017 High School Specials Impact Report.
