Learn Twi in Ghana

Scenic harbour view overlooking homes and boats in Cape Coast, Ghana

Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating Ghanaian culture on one of our Twi Language Courses. Twi is the most commonly spoken tribal language in Ghana, and is the mother tongue of about 6 million Ghanaians living mostly in the southern half of the country.

Lessons are with a local language teacher, are tailored to your personal level, and can be adapted to your interests. With accommodation in the home of a local family, you'll learn quickly and can practise what you've learned with your hosts each day.

There are two options when it comes to learning Twi in Ghana. You can choose to take part in an intensive standalone Language Course, where you will receive around 15 hours of tuition per week.

After completing your Twi Language Course, you can also choose to spend time working on one of our Ghana volunteer projects, such as Teaching or Care, and put your newly acquired language skills to use in a practical working environment.

Alternatively, you can choose to sign up for our 5-hour, 14-hour, or 30-hour Language Course add-ons, which run alongside your main volunteer project. These prices are in addition to your main project price. Please take a look at our Ghana language prices for more information.
