Learn Samoan in Samoa

Scenic view of Pacific Ocean and islands from Apia, Samoa

While English is the official language of Samoa, the Samoan language is the most widely spoken among locals. To learn a local language while living in a foreign country is a fulfilling experience and a good understanding of the Samoan language will enable you to make the most out your time in Samoa.

Lessons are with a local language teacher and are tailored to your personal level and can be adapted to your interests. With accommodation in the home of a Samoan family, you'll learn quickly and can practice what you've learnt with your hosts each day.

There are two options when it comes to learning Samoan. You can choose to take part in an intensive standalone Language Course, where you will receive around 15 hours of tuition per week.

After completing your Samoan Language Course, you can also choose to spend time working on one of our Samoa volunteer projects, such as Teaching or Care, and put your newly acquired language skills to use in a practical working environment.

Alternatively, you can choose to sign up for our 5-hour, 14-hour, or 30-hour Language Course add-ons, which run alongside your main volunteer project. These prices are in addition to your main project price. Please take a look at our Samoa language prices for more information.
