High School Special volunteers paint a wall as part of their Care & Community project at Friendship Village

Volunteers will be based near Hanoi and your time will be spent volunteering at one of our partner care placements. Although this project is relatively short, your experience will be packed full of activities, enabling you to learn about another culture and immerse yourself in the Vietnamese way of life.

You will work alongside other volunteers assisting with lessons and organising activities like arts and crafts or playing sports. You will also spend time helping on a painting and decorating project, creating a lasting impact at the placement. This work is greatly appreciated by both the children and local staff.

Your weekend will be spent visiting the countryside and learning about Vietnam's history. Depending on the number of volunteers, you will stay in a guest house at or near your placement.

Every year, thousands of High School Special volunteers actively make a difference around the world. During their time abroad, they contribute towards achieving long-term goals and make a long-lasting positive impact on the communities where they work. If you want to know more about their achievements, read our 2017 High School Specials Impact Report.
